Mediation Experience and Panel Appointments

Christopher Kauders.One of the region’s most experienced and effective mediators and arbitrators. Since 1987, has settled thousands of disputes involving practice areas including: banking, business, Chapter 93A, construction, disability, discrimination, eminent domain, employment, family financial disputes and will contests, family owned businesses, health care, insurance coverage, landlord/tenant, legal and other professional malpractice, personal injury, real property, securities, sexual harassment, subrogation, and tort.

Over twenty years, mediation settlement rate in excess of 90%. Matters range from two party simple disputes that settle within three hours to complex multiparty disputes. Has reputation for tenaciously assisting parties reach settlements even after mediation session. Attempts to make process as enjoyable as possible for parties and counsel.

Available to serve throughout New England and nationwide.

Frequently serves on Mediation Panels of the: Middlesex Multi-Door Courthouse, panels appointed by the Mass. Trial Court for service statewide, and by the National Association of Securities Dealers. Previously served on the Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Panels of the American Arbitration Association, the FDIC/RTC and Johns/Manville Personal Injury Settlement Trust.

Appointed by Mass. Attorney General’s Office and several Fortune 500 companies to resolve consumer class actions. One publicized case involved facilitating resolution of 145 separate complaints by consumers against Citibank for alleged debt collection violations. Selected by the tobacco industry and Mass. A.G. to coordinate limited discovery issues.

Bar Association Appointments Presentations & Lectures

Frequent panelist and lecturer on topics involving mediation theory and effective practice. Presenter on MCLE’s “60 Minute Lawyer” cassette series – 1994. Panels ranged from the MCLE 1994 “Personal Injury Basics” to Mass. Bar and Boston Bar Association presentations in 2006 and 2007. Presently serving as Chair of the ADR Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the Boston Bar Association.

In September, 2007 participant in BBA seminar on corporate compliance and resolving disability claims. In November, 2007 Chair of Boston Bar Association seminar “Maximizing Your Effectiveness In Mediation”.

1985-1987 President of a 34 unit condominium association on Beacon Hill.

1997- to present The Seeing Eye, Inc. (Morristown, NJ) Board of Trustees (serves on Executive Committee) World’s premier dog guide school with $230 million endowment.
